The Purpose of this Website

June 23rd, 2010

Why this site? There are so very many surfing around the net, even as we speak, looking for some kind of spiritual satisfaction.  I know I like to do this, particularly on a Friday night or Saturday morning. I often find some very good reading that provokes me and inspires me. But it is not interactive.

What is the purpose of another blog discussion website, and why come to this one in particular? Well… come for:

1] FELLOWSHIP with our Father and his Son, our Brother: we have to help each other to look up. Not only is there great joy in doing so, but we find a unique source of power that will help bring us up onto the spiritual plane. We can live in our Father and reciprocally He in us. So be it with our big Brother too.

what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. 1John 1:3 (New American Standard Bible)

2] FELLOWSHIP with each other: I want to provide an opportunity for fellowship for those in particular in the Church of God who keep the weekly Sabbath from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday and the annual Sabbaths described in Leviticus 23. It’s more than nice to talk to someone of the same faith and outlook…  you know, those who are easily led by the Holy Spirit.

and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you;so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13

3] STIMULATION from the content and the commentary to work towards living faith and everything that comes from that kind of belief. Chatting about how God works in our lives can inspire us to live more abundantly, more fruitfully, and more wisely.

and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds Hebrews 10:24

4] CARING and SHARING for each other as children of God. Sometimes we feel pretty isolated and the whole world just seems to swarm around us as some kind of an opponent. Wouldn’t it be grand if we could take a rest from fighting spiritual powers in high places? It is amazing to me how much my day can be changed by the kind words of just one or two people.

for I know your readiness… and your zeal has stirred up most of them. 1 Corinthians 9:2

Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Then those who  feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who  fear the LORD and who esteem His name. Malachi 3:16

5] TURNING KNOWLEDGE INTO POWER is what can turn this site into spiritual dynamite. We have all been reading articles, studying booklets and doing correspondence lessons for years. But how much has it really changed us? When we can point out how that study has been applied in our life, and when we can share the actual miraculous working of our Father (as it applied to us in those same articles), then our understanding and action will grow in ways we never thought possible. That’s when going up on the spirit plane really means something: Awesome impact on you and me both.

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment Philippians 1:9

This site is all about getting out of the world for a few minutes (or hours) and climbing into our Fathers lap.

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 1 John 3:1

6] TO FURTHER CIRCUMCISE OUR OWN HEARTS as we are commanded:

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked …. what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul ….  Deuteronomy 10:16, 12

More than any other way, we encourage the heart by who we are, what we do, and by the words that come out of our changing heart.  Our children do not follow us because they do not see enough happiness and abundance inside of our own very being. If we have high hopes, spiritually, for our children, then we need the Holy Spirit doing its miraculous work on our carnal nature.  Again,  it is Our Father who restores us, as we cooperate:

And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest liveDeuteronomy 30:6

For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring And My blessing on your descendants. Isaiah 44:3 (New American Standard Bible)

We have these promises, these many promises, throughout the Bible. I need to believe them and act on them, as a committee of one, to bring about the restoration of God’s way not only in my own physical family but also in our spiritual family  - – yes, you and me together, being restored, at the same time.

7] TO LEARN TO PRAY “THE PRAYERS”, TOGETHER, in convicted, believing, miracle producing faith. When we truly understand it, everything happens as a result of prayer. Too many of us have let our prayers become ineffective; our prayers are heard but not in powerful, earthshaking, transforming ways. “The prayers”, as opposed to our ordinary prayers, is what moves Our Father in heaven to act now. It is not God who is slow, but us… because we have not been able to either build or maintain living faith. Our biggest goal is to promote living faith that produces “the believing prayers”. Our living beliefs expressed in words to Our Father are the:

golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints…. [in] a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God … Revelation 5:8, 8:3-4

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in  [margin, & ESV, RSV, ASV, YNG, etc.] THE prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles…. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. Acts 2:42-3, 4:31

THEREFORE

Let us take action… We, the hidden children of God, can sometimes misinterpret what Our Father is doing in our lives; that can leave us feeling more than a little bewildered UNTIL we understand what our Father has in mind. We can see the spiritual reality instead of the physical confusion. We need to help each other see straight.

The purpose of this blog is to know our Father and his power in ways we never have before. As we get to know Him, we become like Him, and when we are like Him, we have stuff to share … and it becomes most worthwhile knowing each other, right here, right now, that way, His Way!

I want to encourage you to love and good works, through living faith… how about you to me?

Happy Father’s Day!

June 21st, 2010

What a wonderful day to start a new website – – a site on Fatherhood!

I really do enjoy being honored by my children; it’s some kind of special that I can’t really describe.

Yet, the one big truth in my life is that everything starts with My Father.  Yes, children are great but what happens rotates around Dad. Whether we are thinking spiritually or physically, children react to their father.  When we get right down to it, everything we say, do, think, and live by is a reflection of our family relationship, such as it is.

The  very last verse of the Old Testament concludes with a critical comment about the father child relationship:

MALACHI 4:6 “He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.” New American Standard Translation

The earth, the land, is cursed without the right kind of heart relationship between father and child.  But that kind of curse is not going to happen: “He will restore… so that I will not come and smite…“  It’s the Father, not us, who does the restoring!

Does he restore all by Himself? No. It’s a two way thing as the verse states. Cooperative, you know, co-relational but not co-dependent.

Now may our God and Father Himself … cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people …  so that He may establish your hearts…. God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word… for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”   (1 )

It’s a heart thing.

That’s right, Our Father turns, strengthens and establishes our hearts as we cooperate, love Him and obey what He calls us to do. We really just imitate our Father’s example, through the example of His Firstborn. Jesus said we have our Father’s power going deep inside of us, as we realize we are his literal children, sons:

“… the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.  For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does… I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you… know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father…. I and the Father are one… realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” (2)

Our Father makes us a part of Him. And, He becomes the biggest part of us, if we so choose. Unlike the angels, we have Sonship, His name,   an inheritance, and His fullness living in us, as we let Him.  We are our Father’s sons and daughters , the Temple he lives in. We are and will be His special royal priests, and eventually we will be co-rulers with Him. We are truly friends with our Abba, our Dad  (3).

So what does Father’s Day mean to us? More than we can imagine…  no matter how unreal that may be, it just might be worth it to  sit down and think about it for a while. Our physical fathers may have been great, or not so great; that we believe… it’s what’s too real. But, our spiritual Father is unbelievably fantastic! So let’s invite  Him in … and celebrate this father-sonship thing like we have never ever believed possible.

I say again, Happy Father’s Day!
